Electronic Cigarette Go, Go Gadget - E Cigs become Social Network?

Can it really be that electronic cigarettes are becoming the next phase in the social networking phenomenon? You've got your twitter, you've got your facebook and now you've got your e cigarette that can apparently help you to make friends!

Yes, electronic cigarettes are going to be able to communicate with each other as one company rolls out a brand of e cigarettes that recognises when they are within 50 yards of another "vaper" (or e cigarette user). Quite how this is going to help you make friends, I don't know, especially if once you are alerted to another e cig in the vicinity, you then have to hunt them down and introduce yourself, only to find that the person is obnoxious and you would much rather not have them in your particular social networking scene!

However, gadgets are cool and the e cigarette trying to gadget-ize itself, could certainly win it some friends, especially if they start building I-phone apps into them etc.

So, bearing in mind that this sort of technology is pretty much already here, what else would you like to see your all singing, all dancing e cigarette do?

1. E-cigarette mobile phone ' Not really sure where any touchpad would go but if it can do apps, why not actually become your latest phone. It would certainly be slim line and light!
2. E cigarette digital camera/camcorder ' Surely it's possible to have a little lens at the tip of the e cig? Okay, we are in James Bond territory here, but very cool!
3. E cig torch ' These devices already have built in LED's...so why not go a stage further and include some seriously powerful light-age to illuminate your way home from the pub!
4. E-cig Lightsaber ' If the torch idea works, then why not work on the next stage of light emission, a fully fledged mini lightsaber. Great for lunch time battles in the office! (mind those fingers though!)
5. Electronic cigarette sat nav ' The sat nav in your car has got you so far, but what if you now have to enter a pedestrian only area for the final leg of your journey. A handy voice inside the e cig could guide you right to where "X" marks the spot and maybe also become your virtual friend.

So, come on manufacturers, you know you can do it! A pat on the back for any company that can fit all of the above ideas into one e cigarette product!
